Last week we were introduced to the National Videogames Museum in Sheffield and their Education Director Leah Dungay explained the importance of preserving the history of videogames and their role in educating new generations.
In this video, the Creative Director of the museum John O’Shea looks at the lasting cultural legacy of videogames and how their rules and mechanics can be seen influencing everything from satellite navigation systems to how supermarkets are organised.
Whether you play videogames or not, John argues that they have now broken out from their niche origins to be a cultural force on a par with movies, TV and novels.
