An avatar is an icon or character that represents a human being in a videogame or on the internet. We all have avatars that we use on an online accounts, but what does that avatar choice say about us and how we wish to be seen?
In this video Claire Mead, Programme and Collections Manager at the National Videogames Museum in Sheffield, discusses the importance of avatars in gameplay and what they can mean to players typically underrepresented in games.
