Storyland was a virtual reality (VR) project that explored children’s experiences of play and storytelling, whilst as piloting a new game in development by the VR company Cooperative Innovations.
In this video, Dr Aneesh Barai discusses the project from an academic perspective; how it worked, what the objectives were and how children reacted to the game. Aneesh and his colleague Dr Becky Parry sent Oculus Quest headsets to the children, along with a copy of the Storyland game, and then ran a series of online focus groups and questionnaires to see how the children felt about interacting with their favourite stories.
In the next step we will hear from Emma Cooper from Cooperative Innovations about their approach to the project and what the ambitions for the game are.
