Stuart Wrigley, Computer Science. This research is focussed on technology and crowdsourcing and how this can improve the lives of local citizens. The development of ‘Citizen Observatories’ allows citizens and authorities to directly collaborate on, for example, the preparation for and management of flooding; other applications are in traffic management and air pollution. A geofencing app allows two-way communication between citizens and authorities to disseminate and gather information.
