Wai Man Ng, Computer Science. Up until now, we have faced an obstacle in communicating between people who speak different languages. However, with the recent advancement of machine learning, this problem can be solved by using a computing device with automatic speech recognition and machine translation capabilities. For example, you can speak to a mobile phone and your speech will be decoded into text and translated into another language. This talk guides us through the translation systems used and how they are integrated in different systems.
