The Howard League for Penal Reform is the oldest penal reform charity in the UK – and possibly the world. They have played a key role in many major criminal justice reforms, from the abolition of capital and corporal punishment to the foundation of the probation service. Andrew manages the charity’s campaigning, policy, press and public affairs work. Campaigns Andrew has led on include the Books For Prisoners campaign and successful lobbying to stop the building of a children’s super-prison.
