Off the coast of Venezuela, the tiny Dutch Caribbean island of Bonaire is home to a small population of Amazona barbadensis: the Yellow-shouldered Amazon Parrot, an IUCN-listed threatened species. Working closely with the World Parrort Trust, researchers at the University of Sheffield have three NERC funded Open CASE PhD Studentships that are making an impact on the conservation of these birds and their habitat.
