Abstract

The launch of the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) and the emphasis placed on Innovation as one of the University’s four pillars has shone a light on the importance of delivering high quality knowledge exchange (KE) activities. In this webinar, Annette will draw on her experience of undertaking consultancy projects with a wide range of clients and summarise some of the benefits and challenges. She will describe her most recent project, which began in the height of the covid pandemic. This is a Government funded evaluation of a national Green Social Prescribing (GSP) programme designed to prevent and tackle mental ill health (Press release https://tinyurl.com/2p884wuf). The project is led by the University of Sheffield, working within a consortium comprising the University of Exeter, University of Plymouth and Sheffield Hallam University. She will provide a brief description of the project’s methodology and describe the opportunities and challenges of developing KE activity within the constraints of a global pandemic.

Bio

Annette is a Research Fellow in the School of Health and Related Research (https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/scharr/people/staff/annette-haywood). On completion of her PhD, she spent four years in the NHS as a Research Lead in a Primary Care Trust before returning to the university in 2008 as a Research Associate. She joined the section of Public Health in 2010 as a Research Fellow and is the section’s Knowledge Exchange champion. She has led a number of impactful consultancy projects as Principal Investigator for high profile clients including the British Red Cross, Yorkshire Cancer Research, Cruse Bereavement Care and the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra).
