Space for Sharing: Researching online sharing by people in extreme circumstances. Commissioned for Festival of the Mind 2016, Sheffield theatre company Dead Earnest present a performance based on the real experiences of women living with breast cancer who use the web to share information and experiences about their illness.
Watch an excerpt of the performance, and find out more about the 'Shared Space and a Space for Sharing' project, led by Professor Peter Bath, which looks at how people in extreme circumstances share information online to support their health and wellbeing.
Peter’s associates on this project are Melanie Lovatt, who is researching ageing and the sociology of health and illness, Dr Julie Ellis, a sociologist specialising in identity and relationships at the end of life and Sarah Hargreaves, whose research focuses on ageing, health, and health technologies.
