The interdisciplinary manufacturing project runs throughout the first year. Students have the chance to work in the Engineering Applications Workshop - a lab full of 3D printers, laser cutters, casting equipment, drills, routing machines bandsaws and metalworking lathes.
Watch how the students use this equipment to create a gyrocar - a gyroscopically stabilised, flywheel driven, battery powered machine.
General Engineering is delivered by Interdisciplinary Engineering, an Academic Teaching Unit within the Faculty of Engineering that also manages Aerospace Engineering, Bioengineering and the Science and Engineering Foundation Year.
