Screen Rights set out to explore spatial barriers to filmmaking in Sheffield. We asked local filmmakers about their experience of these barriers. This film aims to be an advocacy tool to amplify the marginalised voices, stories and skills of diverse filmmakers in Sheffield. It proposes how our city could better support a diverse community of independent filmmakers through inclusive creative media spaces.
Screen Rights is a research project by Live Works, the urban room and project office of the School of Architecture at the University of Sheffield, in collaboration with the Diaspora Media Hub and the Israac Somali Community Association. It is funded by SIGN (Screen Industry Growth Network).
