Clinical Risk Prediction: What are we predicting and why
Clinical risk scores and tools are often used in emergency medicine to predict the risk of adverse outcome and guide decision-making. This often involves prioritising treatment or providing more intensive or invasive treatment for those at higher risk of adverse outcome. This presentation will highlight the importance of using appropriate outcomes in clinical risk prediction and describe how inappropriate use of clinical risk prediction may lead to poor decision-making.
