Embarking on doctoral study involves many transitions and challenges, which impact on PGRs’ well-being and mental health.
Chris Blackmore & Kay Guccione from the University of Sheffield have devised the “Student Transitions through Engaging with Photography” (STEP) project to develop a bespoke online tool for new PGRs to encourage reflection and sense-making of their transitions through sharing of their own themed photographs.
This session presents the findings of a series of preparatory workshops with PGRs where students have discussed their own transitions and provided feedback on how they would like to respond to these using the online tool.
