This is a story from Tavengwa Chitata about how he has evolved through different experiences and in the process, how his approach to research has evolved with these experiences. The story gives an account of his childhood in Zimbabwe, the influence of the society on some of his choices, the disconnections between formal education and practices, i.e how water is supposed to flow and how it actually flows. It follows how he had to relearn in order to account for the disconnections and how he tries to weave everything together through a technography approach in his PhD research.
