Inside The Diamond Teaching Clean Room - Dr. Gavin Williams, the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering (EEE)

Dr. Gavin Williams gives a short tour around the Teaching Clean Room in The Diamond which EEE students use throughout their time at the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering (EEE).  The Clean Room recreates the environment that commercial Clean Rooms work in which filters the air to remove dust and particles that can interfere with the tiny technological items,such as circuits used in mobile phones, that are being made in them.

Not many Universities have a teaching Clean Room but at Sheffield our students have lab sessions in here in their First & Second years and if they choose can work on their projects in the lab in their 3rd and 4th Years.  Take a look to see what they can do!
