Journalism and the values it represents are under threat. In her inaugural lecture as UNESCO Chair on Media Freedom, Journalism Safety and the Issue of Impunity, Professor Jackie Harrison examines the nature of the contemporary threats to journalism, and what is being done to resist them.
Jackie is head of the Department of Journalism Studies at the University of Sheffield and chairs its research institute the Centre for Freedom of the Media (CFOM).
This lecture was given on 7 November 2018, during the department's seventh International Journalism Week.
