The first episode of the convivial conservation podcast, recorded on 19 November 2019, is a conversation between Prof Bram Büscher, University of Wageningen (NL), co-leader of the CONVIVA – convivial conservation research project, and Dr Judith Krauss, University of Sheffield (UK), post-doctoral researcher on the project.
In the podcast, Bram explains ‘like I am five years old’ (The Office-style) what convivial conservation is (00:40), the origins of convivial conservation and the research project and its focus on jaguars in Brazil, wolves in Finland, bears in California and lions in Tanzania (04:15). We discuss where we currently are with Conviva (17:30) also in terms of the importance of challenging injustices and promoting local, grassroots knowledge and engagement (23:30).
