Bloom’s Taxonomy is a hierarchical ordering of cognitive skills that can be used to help teachers teach and students learn. It starts with the basic order of thinking skills to a higher order of thinking skills.
- Remembering - first level, memorising information
- Understanding - summarising, paraphrasing
- Applying - transferring ideas to practical situations
- Analysis - looking at strengths/weaknesses of an argument
- Evaluating - making decisions based upon knowledge/understanding
- Creating - highest level of thinking: using information to create something new, create new theories, etc.
