So far we’ve looked at some of the techniques for giving words a musical rhythm and structure. Now, we turn our attention to melody, and the relationship between time, melody and rhythm within a song.
In this video you’ll listen to a traditional English folk song called One Morning in May. As you listen to the song, try not to concentrate on the notes themselves, but instead listen to how time is organised and accentuated within the piece.
